After three decades of teaching, mentoring, and pioneering academic and research programs at RIT, Professor Stephen Jacobs is retiring.

When RIT students create video games, they don’t just mail it in. A team of students recently won the Grand Prize at GameFest 2025 for developing Pelican Post. The game is about a pelican mailman delivering mail to a small town of unique characters.

RIT was ranked No. 5 on the Animation Career Review list of Top 50 Game Design Schools and Colleges in the U.S. and No. 2 New York state.

RIT’s game design and development program was ranked sixth at the undergraduate level and 10th at the graduate level in new international rankings from The Princeton Review.

To accommodate its growing number of graduates, the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences will hold two separate commencement ceremonies on May 10, 2025.
